Extra pathogen types are available for a few dollars each. Or you can play the game as a bacteria to start. You must win as a bacteria on the hardest level (there are three levels easy, normal and brutal). If you wish to play as something else, and don't want to beat the game as a bacterium first, you can buy another pathogen for $1.
